Welcome to St Clare Class

Year 2

Teacher: Miss Hammond

Home Learning:

Good Morning St Clare Class. Your home learning will continue after the Easter break.

I will begin uploading your home learning again on Monday 20th April 2020.

Below I have uploaded some Easter activities that you can complete during the break.

The Story of Easter

Watch The Story of Easter, then, experience the wonder of the fulfillment of God's promise to His chosen people as Jesus ascends into Heaven in the glorious miracle of the Resurection!

You could also continue to do PE with Joe Monday - Friday live at 9am. It will also be available for streaming thereafter.

Why not continue to spend 15 minutes each day on the following apps/websites:

Reading Eggs

Times Tables Rockstars

Spelling Shed

Your login details can be found at the front of your reading record.

You can either read to an adult or listen to an adult read every night before bed or even during the day.

Stay safe and enjoy your Easter!

Home Learning Links

The links below are useful websites that the children can use at home to support their learning.

PE kits need to be brought to school every Monday and taken home and washed on a Friday. That way kits will always be available when they are needed.

Spellings are given every Monday. Please learn these for a test the following Friday.

Reading books are changed weekly.  Please read with your child each night and ensure reading books are always in your child’s book bag when they come to school.

Homework is also given on a Friday and is due in on the following Wednesday morning. Please see the class teacher if you have any questions about the homework. Please see the attachment for this weeks homework.

The main focus at the beginning of Year 2 in Maths we will be assessing your child's knowledge of their numbers. They need to be secure with their 2's, 5's and 10's times tables and they also need to be able to count and write numbers to 100.

Big Read

We carry out a few Big read sessions each week, which means as a class we read the same book and have lots of discussion around it and complete fun tasks. Our Big Read text this term is Hansel and Gretel by Anthony Browne.
