Welcome to year 6.
This year is a very important year for children as they come to the end of their time at primary school. We have two main focuses in year six:
- to prepare each child for secondary school as best we can
- to get the children ready for their SATs tests in May.
Year 6 is hard but we try to make it as interesting as possible.
You can help us by . We cannot stress how important this is. The ability to read fluently and quickly is probably the most important skill your child needs.

Read every day for twenty minutes: reading is the most important skill you have. Children who can read well pass their SATs.
Learn times tables. If you know these number facts, it will help you hugely with your maths.

7 x 7 = 49 7 x 8 = 56 7 x 9 = 63
8 x 8 = 64 9 x 8 = 72
9 x 9 = 81
