St. Cecilia and St. Benedict

Physical Education

Every week the year six classes have their PE sessions. St.Cecilia is on Monday and St.Benedict on Thursday. Every child is expected to have a PE kit: plain white t-shirts, plain bottoms (black, blue or grey), and plim-soles or trainers.

Swimming

Pupils in year six attend swimming classes on Friday afternoons at the Northumberland School, which is next door to our own school. Swimming is a compulsory part of the current national curriculum for PE. The pupils should be taught to swim unaided for a distance of at least 25 metres, using recognised strokes, on their front and back, and demonstrate an understanding of water safety. Every child must bring in their swimming kits on Fridays which include: a swimming suit / swimming trunks, swimming hat, goggles and a towel.
