Reading books need to be in school everyday. Please read with your child every evening and encourage your child to retell the story in their own words. Ask them questions about what they have read, and make notes on their progress in their reading record. If you need any support with questions to ask please see class teacher for ideas.
Homework over the summer is to continue to use Reading Egg and to practise your counting forwards and backwards to 100 in 2's, 5's and 10's. Reading Egg login and passwords have been stuck into your child's reading records, please make sure they start using it at home.
Homework is always given out every Friday and is due in the following Wednesday. If you have any problems with the homework please do not hesitate to see the class teacher.
The children will receive their spellings every Monday and have their spelling test on Friday. Please ensure that your child brings their spelling book into school every Friday and also try to encourage your child to use the: Look, Say, Cover, Write, Check, technique.
To look at this week's spellings see below.
Please remember to bring your child's P.E. clothes in on Monday and take them home on Friday (white top, blue/black shorts) to be washed. We hope to be doing PE outside, so please also include long tracksuit bottoms, tracksuit top and outdoor plimsolls or trainers in your child's PE kit.
When you have a spare moment at home please encourage your child to recognise, record and add their numerals from 0-20 and above as a challenge. We will also be looking at number patterns e.g. counting in 2's, 5's and 10's.
St Bernadette's Class is taking part in a trial run of Mathletics the children have been given a login, please encourage them to use it.
In Literacy we are encouraging the children to use their letter sounds within their writing and to concentrate on their letter formation. We would be very grateful if you could reinforce this at home. Below we have attached some printable handwriting practise sheets.
