Welcome to Year 2

This term the children will be taking the KS1 SATS. This is something we have been working towards all year and it is nothing for you and your children to worry about.

The SATS will starting on the Tuesday 7th May 2019 and will be finished by the end of the term. The children will sit the SATS in small groups with their teacher and will continue normal lessons around this.

St Francis class will be going on a trip to Woodberry Wetlands on Friday 10th May 2019. They will need packed lunch and sensible shoes e.g. wellies/old trainers or shoes you don't mind getting dirty.

St Clares will also take this trip at a later date we will keep you up-dated.

Homework this term - We are basing homework around the KS1 SAT's this term to support work being done in school. So we will be giving your child practise questions to try. Please allow your child to do these independently so we can identify what areas we need to support your child more on. If any questions about this please see class teachers.

Many Thanks

PE kits need to be brought to school every Monday and taken home and washed on a Friday. That way kits will always be available when they are needed.

Spellings are given every Friday. Please learn these for a test the following Friday.

Reading books are changed weekly.  Please read with your child each night and ensure reading books are always in your child’s book bag when they come to school.

Homework is also given on a Friday and is due in on the following Wednesday morning. Please see the class teacher if you have any questions about the homework. Please see the attachment for this weeks homework.

We are using Abacus-  Active Learn to plan and deliver lessons.

Your child will be given weekly activities to complete on line which where we can check their progress.
