Welcome to Year 2

St Clare :Miss Watt and Miss Nicky

St Francis : Miss Groom

Thank you for all the parents that helped their children collect sponsors and came to read with their children. It has been a great book week.

Homework and Spellings

Homework this term - We are basing homework around the KS1 SAT's this term to support work being done in school. So we will be giving your child practise questions to try. Please allow your child to do these independently so we can identify what areas we need to support your child more on. If any questions about this please see class teachers.

Many Thanks

PE kits need to be brought to school every Monday and taken home and washed on a Friday. That way kits will always be available when they are needed.

Spellings are given every Friday. Please learn these for a test the following Friday.

Reading books are changed weekly.  Please read with your child each night and ensure reading books are always in your child’s book bag when they come to school.

Homework is also given on a Friday and is due in on the following Wednesday morning. Please see the class teacher if you have any questions about the homework. Please see the attachment for this weeks homework.

We are using Abacus-  Active Learn to plan and deliver lessons.

Your child will be given weekly activities to complete on line which where we can check their progress.

Please keep their log in details safe.

The Big Read

This is an exciting drama for the children that will challenge their use of description and we will look a lot at word meanings.
