Our wonderful classes
Our new IPC topic is
Flowers and Insects
We will be using our environment to explore the habitats of insects and what is growing around us. We will understand how flowers grow and why flowers and insects need each other.
In Science we will be learning about
Everyday materials - we will be investigating materials that we come across everyday. We will be carrying out enquiries to find out the best uses for different materials.
PE kits need to be brought to school every Monday and taken home and washed on a Friday. That way kits will always be available when they are needed.
Spellings are given every Friday. Please learn these for a test the following Friday.
Homework is also given on a Friday and is due in on the following Wednesday morning. Please see the class teacher if you have any questions about the homework.
Reading books are changed weekly. Please read with your child each night and ensure reading books are always in your child’s book bag when they come to school.
The Big Read - This half term in our Big Read lessons we will be focusing on
Hansel and Gretel by Anthony Browne
This extraordinary book brings the classic childhood tale to a new generation courtesy of one of the world's greatest picture book artists, Hans Christian Andersen Award-winner Anthony Browne.
Year 2 will be starting swimming on Tuesday mornings as part of the P.E curriculum.
Please ensure your child has the correct kit every week.
