Welcome to year 6.
This year is a very important year for children as they come to the end of their time at primary school. We have two main focuses in year six:
- to prepare each child for secondary school as best we can
- to get the children ready for their SATs tests in May.
Year 6 is hard but we try to make it as interesting as possible.
You can help us by . We cannot stress how important this is. The ability to read fluently and quickly is probably the most important skill your child needs.

As it is Pendarren week next week, we have very little practice time between now and Year 6's end-of-year performance.
For homework, those people with speaking parts need to make sure that they learn their lines as well as practice saying them as your character would.
Everybody needs to make sure they know the words for all the songs off by heart as well as listening to the songs online and practising singing them.

Homework will be given out on and is usually due back in the following . Whenever possible, the homework will be posted on the class page.
Weekly swimming lessons will begin on and be every thereafter. Please make sure your child has a swimming kit at school on Thursdays.
PE will be on . Again, please make sure your child has a PE kit in school on these days.
